My Values and Approach

Human dignity and the right to self-determination are the two values that define my approach to therapy the most. I believe that all people hold inherent value and worth simply because they are human. I know that life can create challenges that cause some people to doubt that in themselves. I believe helping clients uncover their strengths and their inherent worth is an important step in therapy. From there, we can leverage those strengths to help create the future you desire. Self-determination is equally important. I believe the closer we get to defining our values, our lives, and our dreams for ourselves, the more authentic we live. Living authentically in my opinion is the basis for true freedom. 

Meet Tiara

I am a Black, lesbian, cis-gender woman and I started Phoenix and Thrive to bring what I've learned in the mental field to clients in my community. I specialize in helping Queer adults navigate grief, life transitions, emotional intelligence, suicidal urges, and interpersonal relationships. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you navigate the bridge to where you want to go.

  • Individual therapy sessions start at $175 and payment is due at the time of session. Please click the Services button to get more info about other services provided.

  • Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. And don’t worry, I update this section regularly to reflect my most current availability.

  • Clients will be provided a Super Bill, which you can then provide to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are considered an out-of-network behavioral health provider with all insurances and reimbursement rates will vary based on your insurance coverage. You can call the number on the back of your card for more details.
